Compare iPhone Plans -
Buying The iPhone On Contract.
When you're buying an iPhone, you basically have two options.
-
Your 1st option is to buy it outright, either via the eBay listings displayed here, or via the Apple store directly.
-
The 2nd option is to buy it on a contract, over 12 or 24 months, and either recieve the iPhone for free, or pay a small monthly installment for the iPhone handset.
We understand you might want to buy on a contract, as it is more convenient, easier to pay off and requires a small or no upfront fee.
Below we have listed links to all the vendors that currently offer the iPhone on contract. Rather then provide a outdated comparison table, we strongly urge you use these links to view the most current, up to date offers available.
When you are comparing plans, it's handy to have a notepad, and a calculator nearby.
Australian iPhone Vendors:
Vodafone | 3 Mobile | Telstra | Optus | Virgin
Compare the following between all the plans available:
-
Total Minimum Cost.
-
Contract Term (is it 12 or 24 months?)
-
Total Amount Of Minutes included. Cut through the confusion, and work out exactly what you'll get:
You can work this out, by dividing the amount of credit, by the rate per minute.
Say, for example, a plan offers $350 worth of credit, but charges $1.30 per minute.
By diving $350 by $1.30, we can work out you will recieve 269 minutes.
-
Total Amount of SMS's included per month.
-
Monthly Data Allowance. This is important. You want to make sure you sign a contract that gives you enough data to cover your average use.
We recommend, at a minimum, 100MB. An average user can use between 50MB-250MB. A heavy user can user up to 1GB. Take some time to look into this, if you exceed your monthly data allowance there are often heavy extra fees charged.
-
Handset Cost. Some plans will included the iPhone for free, whilst other, cheaper plans require you to make a monthly installment or initial upfront fee for the handset.
We hope this helps you find the best plan for your needs. Whilst this stage can be complicated, if you take the time, work out things with some simple calculations, and compare your notes, you'll find the best iPhone Contract Deal Available.
