Apple has released iPhone update 2.0.2 in light of the recent barrage of complaints concerning the iPhone's 3G reception problems.
People all around the globe have been complaining about poor 3G reception on their iPhone, dropped calls and a varying 3G signal strength in areas where other handsets get 5 bars. Apple's Forums have been flooded with multiple reports all saying these same things - all suggesting that the original iPhone had better reception and that the 3G service was so unreliable it wasn't worth the wait...
Apple remained silent, completely, apart from a little one sentence email that Apple's CEO Steve Jobs sent out personally. Now, with the latest 2.0.2 software release, Apple claim they have addressed these 3G reception issues. Perhaps this sudden response is due to the class-action lawsuit thats been taken out against them.
The iPhone 2.0.2 software update "improved communication with 3G
networks," said Apple spokeswoman Jennifer Bowcock.
User response is mixed. Some say the update doesn't improve anything. A poll on engadget shows a wide range of reports. Mysterious Apple have not given any hint as to where the problem was, and subsequently how they have fixed it. They do not give any idea of how the 3G reception will be improved with the new update.
Jailbroken iPhone users will need to download the latest version of QuickPWN to jailbreak the iPhone 2.0.2 software update.
