The iPhone Nano? We don't think so.

Ok, this one is a little wierd...
Reports are circulating on the net that a smaller version of the iPhone will be released for Xmas, called the 'iPhone Nano'
The U.K's daily mail states a industry insider claims that the iPhone Nano will be launched by O2, in the U.K. but there was no mention of a US or Australian release.
The report suggests this launch is aimed at the budget, low-cost market:
"The iPhone 3G has been the fastest-selling phone ever in the U.K., but
it is too expensive to be a realistic proposition in the pay-as-you-go
market," the source told the newspaper. "However, a cut down version,
with the candy bar shape of iPod Nano music players, would be a huge
hit as a Christmas gift."
The newspaper hints at a touch wheel interface on one side and a screen on the other, which to us seems pretty impractical. This rumour doesn't really make sense - the iPhone is as small as practically possible, making it smaller would be just silly.
One thing that is definitely for certain...
We are due for a new releases in the iPod family. Hopefully, we'll see a 64GB iPod touch released, and a revamped iPod Nano - with more space and a larger screen...
